The Samson MDA1 Mono Active DI Box combines premium sound circuitry with a rugged, road-ready design, delivering high-quality signal connection solutions for live sound and recording studio applications. The MDA1 runs on either batteries or phantom power, enabling you to send clean, balanced lines from your guitars and basses.

The active MDA1 offers a consistent frequency response for any audio signal you connect, regardless of its output impedance. This makes the MDA1 ideal for connecting instruments with passive pickups that have very high impedances, preserving the instrument’s upper frequency range. The MDA1’s balanced output delivers a clean signal that’s less prone to interference than an unbalanced line, allowing for longer cable runs. Additionally, a 2-position attenuation switch with 0 dB / -15 dB lets you tailor the MDA1 to a variety of signals.

Through the MDA1’s Thru jack, you can monitor the input signal and send it to an amplifier or monitor without affecting the original audio. This can eliminate the need for mic’d guitar amps, which is often preferred depending on the application—especially as more musicians use in-ear monitors.

The MDA1 is housed in a 14-gauge steel chassis that withstands the rigors of the toughest live tours. Its sturdy outer shell protects all internal connections, switches, and solder joints from failure, ensuring quiet and reliable performance.
