As a gift for an eight-year-old girl with childish ambitions, this instrument is ideally suited as a starter.
The workmanship is excellent, the mechanics precise and the frets pure. Anyone who plays classical guitar and has finer fingers can wonderfully revive one or the other piece from the first years of practice.......

it is a beautiful instrument, my life companion with his big hands, for which it was, must first practice with the little thing, but he is happy about it and finds the sound and the execution pleases him. maybe it is not quite fret clean, we will take care of that in the next few days.
otherwise full of praise for the fast delivery. and the cover with it, was a surprise.

The copy of a Yamaha GL1 I got to know was not suitable for playing the guitar with joy. The high E,G and B strings produced an unclean, slightly buzzing and unpleasant sound - unacceptable even as a practice guitar for a child. At this price point, the build quality probably varies widely. My Yamaha GL 1 was visually flawless. At first glance, you get a very nice instrument for not a lot of money. Maybe a set of better strings would have fixed the problem. But I didn't want to experiment and sent the guitar back.

For the price range, the Jamaha GL1 Guitarlele Nature is a good sounding and cleanly processed instrument! The usual short frets on a ukulele make playing the six strings not easy for beginners with wide fingertips, but with narrow fingers the instrument can be played very well!
