Precise Signal Processing for Demanding MC Systems!

The Rega Fono MC MK4 is an MC phono preamplifier designed to maximize the potential of any low-output MC cartridge. The Fono MC MK4 was specifically developed for Rega's latest moving-coil cartridges and is fully configurable via DIP switches on the rear panel, making it compatible with a wide range of low-output MC cartridges from other manufacturers.

The Fono MC MK4 now comes in an all-new enclosure that matches the new Fono MM MK5 and Neo MK2 and Rega's latest electronic components, delivering a modern look that will fit seamlessly into any HiFi system.

A MUSE operational amplifier is used in the RIAA equalization amplifier. Polypropylene capacitors are used in the signal path and the RIAA equalization circuits. There is a selectable input loading for resistance and capacitance, together with two different gain settings on the rear panel, making the Fono MC MK4 compatible with most low-output MC cartridges.

The new Fono MC MK4 circuit is the result of development work carried out on the highly successful Aria phono amplifier.

Quality and Aesthetics Combined

The Fono MC MK4 is engineered to be effective, easy to use, and above all, to reproduce music. The Fono MC MK4 uses the low-noise LSK389 FET from Linear Systems in a fully discrete input stage, where low noise and linearity are critical to extracting the best performance from an MC cartridge.

Thanks to the FET's high input impedance, loading effects from the amplifier circuit are minimal and do not affect cartridge performance.

Beyond its technical qualities, the Fono MC MK4 impresses with a modern all-aluminum enclosure that visually matches current Rega components. The design is timeless, functional, and integrates harmoniously into high-end HiFi systems. At the same time, the aluminum enclosure provides effective shielding against electromagnetic interference.
