Which guitar size is the right one for you?
The scale length indicates the size of a guitar - or more precisely the length of the vibrating string between nut and bridge. The standard scale is 650 mm and corresponds to a 4/4 guitar. All other sizes are therefore smaller and recommended for children and young people.
Here you can find our recommendations for age / body size and the appropriate scale:
- 1/2 Size: for ages 6-8 years or a body size of about 116 cm
- 3/4 Size: for ages 9-11 years or a body size of about 138 cm
- 7/8 size: for ages 11-13 years or a body size of about 147 cm
- 4/4 size: from the age of 12 years or a size of about 160 cm

Hello!
My daughter wants a guitar. She is 10 years and already 1.50 cm! What size guitar would fit her? Somewhere I read that this guitar is of size 4/4 for adults!
She can't play yet, but wants to learn. She always watches videos on the internet!

When choosing a guitar size, you go by the child's height. For your daughter I would recommend a 3/4 size, a 4/4 size is probably too big.
