A Look Back in Time! Mesa Boogie is excited to announce the return of the Boogie Split Back 2x12 and 4x12 cabinets, responsible for some of the biggest rock tones of the ’80s. These innovative cabinets, recorded and toured by the decade’s best and wildest musicians, combined the best features of open- and closed-back cabinets in one handy package. After nearly three decades on hiatus, Mesa Boogie resumes production of these extraordinary Boogie cabinets. They’re the perfect match for the Mark IIC+ and Dual Rectifier Solo Heads!

The Boogie Split Back design delivers the unfiltered, airy, clean performance of open-back cabinets with an open chamber on top, and the punchy, tight bass response of a closed-back cabinet with a sealed chamber below. This covers a wide range of tones guitarists need without requiring separate, specialized cabinets.

Durable Bronco Tolex vinyl and hand-formed leather corners cover the cavity-free Baltic birch plywood enclosure, creating a strong and sonically rich home for the UK-made Celestion drivers. The unique and rugged expanded metal grill protects and beautifies them, while the removable casters on their Track-Loc guide plates make transport and setup a breeze.

The 4x12 Split Back cabinet uses two C90s in the open chamber and two Celestion Vintage 30s in the sealed lower chamber for an iconic, thumping low end, classic British “mid scoop,” and sweet, harmonic top end. Like all MESA cabinets wired standard at 8 Ohms, the rear jack plate features the main input and a PARALLEL output jack (adding an extra 8-Ohm cabinet results in a total 4-Ohm load). The 4x12 also includes a pair of SPLIT mode inputs, allowing the left and right halves of the cabinet to be separated for stereo operation (@ 4 Ohms per side).
