Newly Redesigned X Series
The electro-acoustic GPC-X2E features a satin-finished spruce top with an elegant rosette in an abalone pattern and striking HPL back and sides with a Cocobolo pattern for added durability and looks, without sacrificing the classic Martin tone. Playability improvements include a thinner fretboard with a gently beveled edge and refined string spacing, as well as a modernized bridge contour for a smooth and comfortable playing experience.
The Grand Performance body size delivers a projected, balanced tone with added bass, and a cutaway eases access to the highest frets. The GPC-X2E Cocobolo also features a neck, fretboard, and bridge made from selected hardwood, plus Martin E-1 electronics with built-in chromatic tuner and volume, tone, and phase controls.
All X Series models come with a lightweight case.

The guitar arrived on time in the accompanying gig bag in the unopened original Martin box, packed again in another box.
Cleanly finished and immediately ready to play. The built-in tuner is a nice feature, the pickup works. Even unamplified, the guitar has a decent volume and is simply fun to play.
I play both Martins every day and am completely happy with them.
Visually, the striking cocobolo grain of the back of my guitar differs from the frequently shown product photos in that the light areas are missing. My first spontaneous thought: oops, wrong instrument delivered.
If you do a bit of searching online, you will find pictures on which the light areas of the grain are significantly larger. I am very happy with my copy after all. However, if you are interested in this model because of its special look, you should be aware of the possibilities and buy it in a store rather than online.
