The PEDL90008 footswitch is compatible with the programmable FX models of the Marshall MG series (from 15 watts). Please note that it cannot be used with other amplifiers and should not be connected to them by mistake. If in doubt, ask your Marshall dealer for the correct footswitch for your amp.

For stylistically versatile guitarists it's not only important to have sonically flexible amplifiers ready — it's equally crucial to be able to select those amp sounds in a practical way. The pinnacle of footswitch engineering comes from Marshall: Marshall holds a worldwide patent for programmable footswitches. The PEDL90008 falls under that patent. The user can freely decide which of the four footswitches handles which function.

Remote Control Tailored to Your Taste

What do you prefer? Do you want to copy the amp's switch functions or recall complete presets? Or both? Each individual button on the PEDL90008 can take on a switch function of the MG amp or even store its own preset including all switch functions and knob positions (except master volume). Switch functions and presets can be mixed at will — for example, three presets on the first three switches and effect on/off on the fourth switch — you couldn't make it more convenient. The factory default switch assignments are as follows:

• Switch 1: Clean / Crunch
• Switch 2: OD1 / OD2
• Switch 3: FX On / Off
• Switch 4: Tuner & Mute On / Off

The footswitch functions remain stored in the amplifier so a replacement footswitch can be used without reprogramming.

Operating Status Always in View

It's simply reassuring to have a visual check on the footswitch showing which channel is selected, whether the effects loop, reverb or other internal effects are active. In addition, the blinking TAP LED visualizes the current delay time. In tuner mode these LEDs display the pitch.

Easy to Connect — No Battery, No Special Cable

Despite its extensive features, the PEDL90008 connects to the MG amplifier with a simple mono jack cable. Data transfers to the amp digitally, even though the amp itself delivers authentic analog sounds! The power for the footswitch electronics, the tuner and the indicators also comes directly from the amp. No battery is required! That ensures reliable operation and a stress-free setup before the gig.

Automatic Chromatic Tuner Included

A tuner needs to sit right at your feet, at the amp's control center, not up on the amplifier. That's why an automatic tuner is integrated into the PEDL90008 pedal. "Automatic" means you get an indicator for the played note without switching between notes, and if necessary the "Sharp" LED (#) lights for a semitone up. The 5 LEDs of the function display allow fine-tuning. The tuner can also be activated by footswitch, which mutes the amp at the same time. The reference pitch is fixed to A at 440 Hz.

Mechanical Decoupling of the Footswitch Buttons

Marshall paid special attention to a robust, virtually indestructible construction for the stompware footswitch. The micro switches are actuated by tapered compression springs so that the springs compress before any mechanical overload of the switches occurs from bouncing or heavy stomping. You can't build a more reliable footswitch!
