The shelves are easy to assemble. You really need a rubber mallet, a screwdriver is unnecessary. One shelf I built with half the height and put as a room divider. From the stability, this is ok. At full height, the shelves are too unstable for a room divider solution. The shelves are very thin, so time will tell if they can take the weight. The shelves steam out for quite a long time, but if you air them vigorously once a day, you won't smell anything. Overall, I can recommend the shelf. If I need more space, I will buy additional shelves from it. The delivery was fast. Each shelf is packed in a single box, so you can carry the packages well from the weight.
