The pickups growl bitingly in the mids and crisply in the treble range, but for original pickups it's an absolutely great sound!
I've only been able to test the lock tuners once so far, but until then the tuning was brutally stable, a clear plus!
Minus points:
- Pickguard foil: a disaster to get this stuff off and I had to rub off the residue with an eraser.
- Screws: I had to tighten almost all the screws by hand.
Plus points:
- Price/performance similar to Ibanez
- Lock tuner
- Pleasant weight
- Resonance of the body is super pleasant (comment: here it should be said again that with electric guitars the wood plays absolutely no role in terms of sound. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant feeling to feel a feedback of the played through vibrations in the body)
All in all, I would buy a Spire again!
