As a former professional musician playing a different stringed instrument, I had turned my back on the Stratocaster, which didn't completely satisfy me (after 20 years, no less!), and finally found happiness in terms of sound and handling with the Les Paul.
And then I wanted another guitar to complement this Les Paul, without having to spend a lot of money. So I decided on this model from the up-and-coming brand JET, which I had heard a lot of good things about. I hesitated for a long time between the JT and JJ models. Now that I've played it for a few hours, here's my feedback:
+ Workmanship: The guitar is really well made, with a two-layer pickguard and frets that you can hardly feel. + I can confirm that the neck is a pleasure to play: I find it super comfortable in terms of both shape and grip in slightly acrobatic positions. It allows for fast and fluid playing with a high level of comfort.
+ The P90 pickups on my model sound really good (clear, warm, and precise sound—not too distorted), and I won't be replacing them for the time being. Depending on the choice of pickup settings, tone control, and amplifier settings, I'm impressed by the range of sounds you can achieve with this guitar! The instrument is really versatile and can be used in many different ways. You can make it sound pretty close to a Telecaster for blues/country, soft, clear and precise in clean, quite powerful in rock and even metal in small doses (okay, not as much as the "Les Paul," but in my opinion better than the Strat). To be honest, I wasn't expecting that much.
It should be noted that my model was delivered in pretty good condition, with a slightly low string action, but perfect for fast playing, and contrary to the description, the bridge has a tremolo. Ultimately, I wasn't sure when I ordered it whether I had made the right choice, but now I'm thrilled with my JJ 300 and therefore with my purchase. Since I'm not familiar with the brand's quality control, I can't say whether all instruments are of such high quality, but if you're lucky enough to find a Jet JJ 300 that's as good as mine, go for it! You won't regret it.
