All his hits share one key element: Nile’s special 1960s Fender Hardtail Stratocaster from a music store in Miami. The name Hitmaker is no coincidence. It’s one of the few guitars deeply connected to its owner on a profound level.

The Hitmaker features a 1960-style alder body. It’s slightly smaller and more contoured than the classic Strat. The Olympic White lacquer finish matches the shade Nile sprayed himself during Chic’s early days. The one-piece maple neck with a custom ’59 profile sports a 9.5" radius fretboard with medium jumbo frets and a satin finish. The back of the headstock is adorned with a “Nile Rodgers & Chic” logo, and the neck plate is stamped with the Hitmaker logo.

The funky tone of the Nile Rodgers Hitmaker comes from precisely tuned Strat single-coils that reproduce the crisp “quack” and bell-like clarity of the original Hitmaker. Other details include a period-correct string-through-body hardtail bridge with bent steel saddles, a reflective chrome-plated brass pickguard, Sperzel locking tuners, and white control knobs. The guitar comes with a vintage-style case embroidered inside with the Hitmaker motif and a certificate of authenticity.
