After years of using an Epiphone SG 400 only as a third guitar, I was still very curious when the "Inspired by Gibson Collection" came out.
And after a long time of thinking back and forth, I hit it.
Was but the neck of the 400 too bulky and the pickups too musty (little treble).
The slim neck, the pickups, the tuners and the finish are much better compared to the 400 - which was only a few euros cheaper.
The guitar is worth every cent!

They have also recognized almost no difference.
The guitar covers all rock variations from indie to modern metal.
To get less output, I screwed the bridge pickup down.
And it was great that it was available here.

Ordered as a second guitar for daily practice I was very surprised what is possible for the price. Visually flawless in a beautiful dark cherry red and out of the box ready to play I took the good piece out of the safe transport packaging. With new guitars I always take the strings down to oil the fretboard and put on my favorite Gibson 09-46 strings. The tuners run nice and tight and hold tuning. The frets were not dull but polishing didn't hurt either. The fret ends are fine for this price range. The neck is very comfortable to play with a flat D profile and 43mm nut width. The probuckers deliver the blues sound I was looking for. Compared to the Gibson lacks a bit of openness in the crunch but it costs 3x as much. I can tune it with my amp so that it suits me. This SG is hardly top-heavy.
Conclusion: I am very satisfied and can recommend this SG.

Overall, I'm really totally thrilled so far! As a complete guitar beginner, I can not judge a lot of things (eg string action, etc. pp.), but everything seems to be perfectly fine. Visually, the guitar is in any case flawless! I received a classical education in playing the cello, which is certainly enormously beneficial and has ultimately left me not only a very good ear.
PS: The delivery time was very speedy despite Christmas and Corona! Everything super!
