The Gibson Flying V is considered an iconic design among modern guitarists. The guitar was first introduced in 1958. Over the following decades, it grew increasingly popular, especially with hard rock and metal players. For many, the 1980s was the decade when the model truly took off. The Gibson 80s Flying V is based on the highly sought-after 1984 models. It features a fast-playing SlimTaper mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. The mahogany body with the legendary shape is equipped with new 80s Tribute pickups that reproduce the unique fat tone and full sustain of the models from that era.
