The snare drum with steel shell offers top-notch craftsmanship and all the features you expect from a legit snare. The snare strainer works flawlessly, and the tuning mechanisms perform solidly.
The included snare stand is sturdy, featuring a double-braced tripod with rubber feet for a non-slip grip and is height adjustable. A threaded screw lets you adjust the stand to fit different snare sizes.
The 14" practice pad can be placed directly on the drumhead to reduce volume. For really quiet practice, place it on a hard surface (tabletop, chair), providing realistic rebound with very low volume.

Yes, the bottom edge of the snare is measured. The playing height also depends significantly on which snare you put on the stand: Of course, an 8" strong snare will be higher (playing height) than a 3" piccolo snare.
