Handcrafted Traditional Gong with Wooden Mallet and Carry Bag!
The Sela Chau Gongs are genuine masterpieces, handcrafted in China from a special bronze alloy. The larger the model, the deeper and more voluminous the sound when struck. Each model comes with a maple mallet featuring a plastic head covered in velvet and a zippered carry bag.
The Sela Chau Gong Standard has a traditional shape with a rim curved backward. The outer rim and center are untreated, while the surface in between is lathed—creating the characteristic look with a shimmering, matte-golden finish.
Gongs are an integral part of many cultures worldwide and produce soothing, long-lasting, esoteric sounds. Depending on how hard, where, and with what the Sela Chau Gong is struck, different frequency ranges come to the forefront. It can be played far more versatile than it initially appears.
Gongs are used for their relaxing effects in meditation and sound therapy, as their vibrations penetrate the entire body. But percussionists also love to use a gong as a special effect in musical and orchestral contexts.
