Handcrafted Flat Gong with Turned Finish!
The Sela Wind Gongs are genuine masterpieces, handcrafted in China from a special bronze alloy. Each model comes with a maple mallet featuring a plastic head covered in velvet and a zippered carry bag.
The Sela Wind Gong Standard has an almost flat shape, with the outer rim not bent backward. It features a shimmering golden finish where the outer rim, the center, and the area in between are each treated and turned to different degrees.
Gongs are an integral part of many cultures worldwide and produce soothing, long-lasting, esoteric tones. Depending on how hard, where, and with what the Sela Wind Gong is struck, different frequency ranges come to the forefront. It can be played far more versatile than it initially appears.
Gongs are used for their relaxing effects in meditation and sound therapy, as their vibrations penetrate the entire body. But percussionists also love to use a gong as a special effect in musical and orchestral contexts.
