The Benny Greb Signature 18" Quick Sand Ride is inspired by the iconic jazz and funk sound of the 70s and 80s. It is a small but heavy ride, modeled after the symphonic cymbals formerly used as rides, which developed their popular characteristic sound through "repurposing" (frequent repairs).

The "Sound Notch" combined with the sandblasted surface gives the Quick Sand Ride its modified, pre-aged character with remarkable clarity, control, and a complex tonal palette. Hand-hammered in Turkey from B20 bronze.

The unusual sandblasted surface provides a soft playing feel and a distinctive matte finish. Its deep, dark, and somewhat dry washy sound is neither too quiet nor too loud. With excellent stick response and short sustain, you can play powerfully with the Byzance Vintage series while maintaining full control. Sonically suited to all music styles that don’t operate in the upper decibel ranges.
