There are cheaper ones, but I have never attached a better one to my instruments (banjo and mandolin). It hardly gets in the way when you use it (which is not a matter of course with the mandolin), it can be attached quickly, or even in a different fret, and retuning is usually superfluous if you attach it correctly, which is not difficult. However, I do have to mention one exception: I still have to retune the four-string banjo in our practice room. I was very surprised, because I use this Supekapo on different instruments. I haven't yet figured out why, but I suspect that the string action is a bit high.
