Replaceable Drum-Head for Your Iconic Cajon!

This íon pays homage to the Peruvian origins of the cajon, which began when overturned wooden crates and containers were used to imitate drums. It's made from natural birch wood, allowing the Peruvian íon to blend optimally with your cajon's front plate to ensure a harmonious sound.

The Peruvian íon produces an impressively clear "Pop" when struck. It's extremely sensitive and responds superbly even to the lightest touches. Keep in mind that this íon is the most sensitive in our range; a gentle touch is enough to achieve exceptional sound quality. Excessive force is not recommended.

Installation is simple: use the hex key included with the Iconic Cajon (usually found at the sound hole along the bottom edge) to loosen the eight screws, fit the íon into place, then re-tighten the screws.

You can influence the head tension—and thus the tone of the íon—by tightening the screws. Depending on how firmly the screws are tightened, the íon's tuning will change. Try experimenting with a quarter to half turn per screw to hear how the sound changes until you find what you like. Make sure, however, that the íon is not too loose.
