The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue Drum OSTD4DGE in dark green finish and F# minor tuning was designed for relaxed, intuitive, and sonically balanced musical experiences. With its handpan-like tonal aesthetic, alternate A4/a' 432 Hz tuning, and well-thought-out note layout, it's ideal for meditation, yoga, sound therapy, or free-form playing.
The combination of high-quality stainless steel, precise workmanship, and musical harmony makes this instrument a reliable companion for creative breaks.
Balanced Note Arrangement Across Two Octaves
At the center of the tongue drum sits a sustaining bass tone that forms the sonic foundation. Around it are eight additional tone fields, each made from two precisely laser-cut tongues. This design lets each note sound in two octaves. The result is a particularly full, floating sound with long sustain.
The F# minor scale with A3, B3, C#4, D4, E4, F#4, G#4 and A4 allows intuitive playing without dissonant tones.
High-Quality Stainless Steel With Decorative Details
Made from coated stainless steel, the Octave Steel Tongue Drum offers high stability, durability and consistent tonal properties. The decorative nylon cord gives the instrument an upscale look.
Light discolorations from the laser engraving may occur due to the material and do not constitute a defect. They neither affect sound nor function and underline the individual character of each drum.
Variable Sound Projection and Secure Stand
On the underside there is a sound hole that can be closed with a silicone plug. Played open, it develops a wide, resonant sound, while the closed state makes the tone more compact and focused. Three non-slip silicone feet provide a stable stance on smooth surfaces and prevent slipping while playing.
Flexible Playability and Comfortable Portability
The tongue drum can be played either with the included wooden mallets with soft covers or directly with the fingers. It sits comfortably on the lap or on a flat surface and is ready to play immediately. For secure transport, a robust nylon bag with zipper and carry handle is included, which reliably protects the instrument.
