Otherworldly Sound for Demanding Audio Applications!
The ART 915-A from RCF offers innovative technologies and otherworldly sound for demanding audio applications. The combination of a 1.75-inch compression driver, a 15-inch woofer, a 2-channel amplifier with 2100 W and a Constant Directivity TrueResistive Waveguide provides consistent 100° x 60° coverage of the listening area with up to 131 dB SPL of distortion-free sound.
Whether used as a stand-alone FOH system, as a satellite (with subwoofer), as a stage monitor or flown: the compact ART 915-A is powerful and reliable. As the most flexible active speaker in its class, it also features multiple mounting points for fixed installations. Thanks to RCF-exclusive FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control algorithms, tuned precisely to each model, your audience experiences utterly transparent sound reproduction and an extensive, punchy bass range. The elegant polypropylene cabinet is reinforced with an internal M-frame for stability. This makes it easy to transport and allows safe mounting on a stand, flown, on a wall or on a truss using the multiple attachment points.
Power That Moves
The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF transducers are constantly optimized — and so are the amplifiers. With 2100 W, the 2-channel Class-D amplifier of the ART 9 series is 50 percent more powerful than its predecessors, delivering impressive SPLs with ultra-fast attack and natural transient response at low heat loss. The ART 9 speakers are so energy-efficient they do not require a cooling fan. Instead, the amplifier at the rear of the cabinet is mounted to a fixed heat exchanger with no moving parts. Physically attached to the internal chassis, the amplifier stays firmly in place. The input signal path has been optimized for low distortion and includes an advanced limiter for added protection that preserves the tonal characteristics of the input signal at all levels. All ART 9 amplifiers are safety-certified (EN62368-1) and powered by a highly efficient, ultra-light switching power supply.
Sturdy Cabinet Thanks to M-Frame
The professional look of the ART 9 cabinets is perfect for live events and fixed installations. The elegant polypropylene cabinet is based on an entirely new construction concept. The front grille, made of extremely robust steel, protects both the drivers and the bass-reflex ports. The specially designed M-frame connects the four inner sides of the cabinet to the amplifier to prevent enclosure deformation and to ensure outstanding acoustic damping even at extreme levels. The frames also act as a supporting structure to better protect the cabinet from mechanical stress.
Bass Motion Control
To achieve extended bass reproduction and greater output, our development team replaced the standard high-pass filter with a forward-looking technology. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), our innovative feature for controlling woofer excursion. ART 9 speakers with BMC handle even the lowest audible frequencies without compromising woofer stability — for a linear, extended bass response and a balanced sound.
BMC is an algorithm that comprehensively analyzes the dynamic behavior of the woofer and, based on those specific data, selectively limits only excessive excursions. This allows complete freedom in signal reproduction by the transducer. Standard high-pass filters are intended to prevent woofer damage but at the same time affect phase behavior. Thanks to the new BMC algorithm, this problem is now history. In combination with FiRPHASE technology, BMC raises the ART 9 series to a new level of DSP audio performance previously unmatched in this speaker class.
Innovative Electroacoustic Design
The special secret of the ART 9 series lies in the cabinet design. The new True Resistive Waveguide combines several technological innovations — both in the transducers and in the special cabinet design with bass-reflex port — developed based on finite-element analyses and extensive measurements in our in-house low-reflection rooms. Thanks to FiRPHASE technology and the novel cabinet construction, this is the happy end to your search for the perfect sound. The TRW waveguide acoustically simulates a resonance-free resistive load, reducing the typical high-frequency distortions caused by horns. Thanks to asymmetric sound processing, the waveguide ensures constant coverage and an improved stereo image across the entire listening area.
Premium Drivers
The lightweight RCF drivers deliver impressive performance. To ensure maximum reliability and an optimal interplay of all components, all drivers were specially developed by RCF engineers in Italy.
Tweeter: Thanks to the new design, the 1.75-inch voice coil with a polyimide-Kapton dome is ten times more stable than previous models. The newly designed phase plug provides clearer sound, more precise transient response and better coupling with the woofer.
Woofer: The special woofer design ensures the system runs more stably at high loads, distorts less and does not overheat as quickly. RCF takes quality testing very seriously. The woofers are tested for over 200 hours using a continuous signal to stress the drivers at high levels, because only the best woofer is good enough for ART 9.
A New Perspective on Linearity
RCF speakers are developed based on proprietary, advanced FIR filter technology that ensures a transparent sound image, absolute clarity and a perfect stereo image. The FiRPHASE filters enable even sound distribution for all listeners without phase distortion and with minimal latency across the entire system.
