Otherworldly sound for demanding audio applications!
The RCF ART 912-A brings innovative technologies and otherworldly sound to demanding audio applications. Combining a 1.75-inch compression driver, a 12-inch woofer, a 2-channel amplifier delivering 2100 W, and a Constant Directivity TrueResistive Waveguide, it provides consistent 100° x 60° coverage of the listening area, with distortion-free sound up to 130 dB SPL.
Whether used as a standalone FOH system, satellite speaker (with subwoofer), stage monitor, or flown, the compact ART 912-A is powerful and reliable. The most versatile active speaker in its class, it also features multiple mounting points for permanent installations. Thanks to RCF-exclusive FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control algorithms, precisely tailored to each model, your audience will enjoy exceptionally transparent sound reproduction and a full, punchy bass response. The elegant polypropylene enclosure is reinforced by an internal M-brace, making it easy to transport and safe to mount on a stand, fly, or install on a wall or truss using its multiple mounting points.
Power that moves you
The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF transducers are continually refined—and so are the amplifiers. Delivering 2100 W, the ART 9 Series 2-channel Class-D amplifier is 50 percent more powerful than its predecessors, producing impressive sound pressure levels with ultra-fast attack and natural transient response, while generating little heat. ART 9 speakers are so energy-efficient that they don't need a cooling fan. Instead, the amplifier is mounted at the rear of the enclosure to a fixed heat exchanger with no moving parts. Physically connected to the internal chassis, the amplifier stays firmly in place. The signal input path has been optimized for low distortion and features an advanced limiter for added protection, preserving the characteristics of the input signal at every level. All ART 9 amplifiers are certified to the highest safety standards (EN62368-1) and powered by a highly efficient yet ultralight switching power supply.
Sturdy enclosure with M-brace
The professional look of the ART 9 enclosures is ideal for live events and permanent installations. The elegant polypropylene enclosure is based on an entirely new design principle. The heavy-duty steel front grille protects both the transducers and the bass-reflex ports. The specially designed M-brace connects the enclosure's four inner sides to the amplifier, preventing cabinet deformation and ensuring outstanding acoustic damping, even at extreme levels. The braces also serve as a supporting structure, improving the enclosure's protection against mechanical impacts.
Bass Motion Control
To deliver extended bass response and more power, our development team replaced the standard high-pass filter with a forward-looking technology. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), our innovative feature for managing woofer excursion. ART 9 speakers with BMC handle even the lowest audible frequencies without compromising woofer reliability—for linear, extended bass response and balanced sound.
BMC is an algorithm that comprehensively analyzes the woofer's dynamic behavior and, based on this specific data, limits only excessive excursion. This allows the transducer complete freedom to reproduce the signal. Standard high-pass filters are designed to prevent woofer damage, but they also affect phase response. The new BMC algorithm puts this problem behind us. Combined with FiRPHASE technology, BMC takes the ART 9 Series to a new level of DSP audio performance, previously unmatched in this speaker class.
Innovative electroacoustic design
The special secret of the ART 9 Series lies in the speaker enclosures. The new True Resistive Waveguide combines several technological innovations—in both the transducers and the specially designed enclosure with bass-reflex port—developed using finite element analysis and extensive measurements in our in-house anechoic chambers. Thanks to FiRPHASE technology and the innovative enclosure design, this is the happy ending to your search for perfect sound. The TRW Waveguide acoustically emulates a resonance-free resistive load, reducing the typical high-frequency distortion caused by the horn. With its asymmetric sound processing, the waveguide ensures consistent coverage and an improved stereo image throughout the listening area.
First-class transducers
Lightweight RCF drivers deliver impressive performance. To ensure maximum reliability and optimal integration of all components, every transducer was specially designed by RCF engineers in Italy.
HF driver: Thanks to its innovative design, the 1.75-inch voice coil with polyimide-Kapton dome is ten times more durable than previous models. The redesigned phase plug provides more transparent sound, more precise transient response, and improved coupling with the woofer.
Woofer: The specially designed woofer ensures greater system stability under heavy use, with less distortion and a lower risk of overheating. RCF takes quality testing very seriously. Woofers are tested for over 200 hours using a continuous signal, putting the transducers through intensive high-level testing. Because only the best woofer is good enough for ART 9.
