The Rode XDM-100 is the ultimate sound solution for podcasters, streamers and gamers. This 22 cm microphone weighs a substantial 700 g thanks to its all-metal housing. As a dynamic microphone, it is resistant to ambient noise—ideal when unwanted noise from the next room or outside is an issue. For close-miking, you can attach the included foam pop filter.
Professional-quality vocal sound
The microphone has a built-in DSP chip that, when used with Rode's free UNIFY recording/streaming software, lets you process the signal with a high-pass filter, equalizer, noise gate, compressor, and the legendary Aphex Exciter and Big Bottom. The result: compelling, professional vocal sound like you'd expect from radio stations or commercials. (When using UNIFY, up to four XDM-100 microphones can be used simultaneously with a computer, if needed.)
The XDM-100 features Rode's own Revolution Preamp, which boosts even quiet voices to a full, completely noise-free level. The XDM-100's large-diaphragm capsule has a cardioid polar pattern, with a 90° pickup angle at the front—the sound from the sides and rear is significantly attenuated.
On the front of the microphone body is a 3.5 mm TRS jack for connecting headphones. The dial above it controls headphone volume and also mutes the microphone. The USB-C port is recessed into the base of the XDM-100.
Full functionality with UNIFY software
Use the free UNIFY recording/streaming software to access the full range of features. It offers a virtual 10-channel mixer with a fader, solo and mute buttons on each channel. It also includes a high-pass filter, compressor, noise gate and Aphex signal processing, eight freely assignable trigger pads with eight banks each, and native multitrack recording.
You can also edit and export high-resolution WAV recordings, export files as MP3s at 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps, and access system settings directly from UNIFY.
Included are the Rode PSM1 shock mount, a USB-C to USB-C cable (3 m) and a high-quality 3.5 mm TRS headphone extension cable (3 m).
