As you play the keyboard, accompaniment rhythms (styles) automatically bring in a complete band. From the very first moment, you can create full ensembles that inspire new, creative ideas. This lets you continually improve your performance and use the EK-50 to bring your musical sketches to life.

Styles to support your performance

With the auto-accompaniment styles, you can call up complete backing bands simply by playing a single note or a simple chord with your left hand. The accompaniment changes with each new note or chord, while your right hand is free to improvise or create new melodies. Start versatile accompaniments and play hundreds of songs with just one finger.

The EK-50's built-in styles cover more than 280 international musical genres. Each offers four variations, from simple to complex, as well as an intro and ending to round out your songs. Give your performance the perfect finishing touch by switching between all the options in sync with the rhythm at the touch of a button.

When you change styles, the "STS" (Single Touch Setting) function automatically selects the appropriate sounds, creating a perfect sound-and-style combination that's set up and ready to play. This lets you focus on learning, composing and making music.

Play a wide range of sounds

The EK-50 offers more than 700 realistic sounds, including pianos, violins, synthesizers, saxophones and drums, which you can easily select and play straight away, whether performing solo or with a band. The Split function divides the keyboard so you can, for example, play piano with your right hand and bass with your left. This gives you a wide range of sound combinations and plenty of enjoyment.

Easy-to-understand controls

The display in the center of the control panel shows the selected sound and style names in large, easy-to-read letters. The most important switches are illuminated by built-in LEDs, giving you an at-a-glance view of the current function settings. The dedicated "Grand Piano" button takes you straight back to the original concert grand sound, regardless of the sound currently selected.

Built-in speakers for great sound

The powerful integrated 2 x 10-watt stereo speakers reproduce not only the EK-50's instrument sounds with impressive quality, but also audio from external devices such as smartphones or tablets connected to the input jack. The EK-50 is ready to play straight out of the box, thanks to the included music rest and AC adapter. With separately available AA batteries, you can even take the keyboard on the go!

Convenient Music Styles function

The EK-50's 64 "Music Styles" support each of your favorite songs with complete sets of preset styles, sounds and tempos. These custom settings, available at the touch of a button, provide the ideal foundation for improvising or developing new song ideas.

Play your favorite songs on the instrument and play along at the same time

You can also record and save new song ideas with the EK-50. In Song mode, you can play your own compositions, built-in demo songs, MP3 and WAV audio files stored on a USB drive, or SMF (Standard MIDI File) data—and even play along yourself.

Expand the instrument with styles from the extensive KORG Library
