I was able to customize the headstock with inlay and with vintage tuners.
The paint job took me 6 months until I was satisfied (1st kit ever).
With top and back in cerused Black/Red - I covered the sides with copper.
Everything was sealed with high gloss PU lacquer.
I changed the saddle with lock up. The bridge by an adjustable rollerbridge.
The tailpiece - I replaced it with a Bigsby Trem - cool stuff.
Next I put Gretsch Filter Tron humbuckers on it.
I replaced the wiring with high quality shielding cable - now it looks classy.
All in all, the effort was worth it - even with the relatively "cheap" body and neck.
I have been rewarded with a sound absolutely worth hearing. Very soft and yet straight.
