The tenor ukulele is the second-largest and a very popular choice among professionals. The top of the UT-260 S is made from solid spruce, giving the tone plenty of room to resonate. The tenor is especially favored by soloists. Traditionally the tenor ukulele is tuned E-A-F#-C# (A tuning). However, as has become common with the soprano ukulele, many players tune this instrument to G-C-E-A — usually with a low G string, which expands the instrument's usable solo range.
