The instruments are individually carved to achieve tonal quality. We carefully control the specifications and dimensions of Stentor instruments in our own workshops to produce instruments that have the essential characteristics of a good tone and consistent quality control. On all Stentor instruments the bridge and sound post are carefully fitted to ensure the best playability.
Stentor Conservatoire
The Stentor Conservatoire violin outfit is chosen by advancing players and is often recommended by teachers as an upgrade for students. It offers a high standard at a reasonable price.
The instrument is manufactured using an internal mould, which gives the body a build with fine detail and accuracy. The Conservatoire has a carved spruce front and a carved back and ribs of flamed maple, which have been finished with Stentor's Shellax varnish, developed over many years. With ebony fittings and a traditional inlay effect, this responsive instrument is a high-quality outfit often recommended for its sound.
The violin comes with a selected wooden bow with natural white horsehair and a fully mounted ebony frog as well as an elongated, luxurious case with lid, carrying strap, music pocket, hygrometer and case cover. High-quality rosin is included.
