Discover the Ultimate Analog Delay!
Classic sound and modern power - the DM-101 Delay Machine is the ultimate analog delay. Powered by eight bucket-brigade delay lines (BBD) and controlled by a powerful processor, the DM-101 offers twelve delay modes, true stereo operation, and a wide palette of tones based on fully analog signal processing. With 127 user memory slots, Tap Tempo, Carryover, MIDI and more, the DM-101 combines the feature set of a modern digital delay with the lively, characterful sound of an analog bucket-brigade delay.
Analog Delay for the 21st Century
In the 1970s, analog delays based on BBD microchips (bucket-brigade delay lines) were developed as compact, cost-effective alternatives to the tape delays common at the time. With their warm, saturated and highly musical sound, they established a distinctive delay style that countless musicians and engineers still value today. The DM-101 expands this classic effect with modern processor control, giving players a range of new possibilities.

BOSS Innovation - Performance on a New Level
The DM-101 pushes analog delay into new territory and delivers not only classic tones but also clean sounds and particularly long delay times. To achieve this versatility, we've used eight 2048-stage bucket-brigade delay lines instead of the usual single 4096-stage BBD. By precisely controlling the behavior of these smaller delay lines with a processor, we achieve a much wider tonal spectrum while preserving the analog characteristics that players love in their bucket-brigade stompboxes.
Sounds - From Vintage to Modern
The DM-101 moves effortlessly and seamlessly between gritty vintage echoes and modern analog delay tones with an extended high end. Various internal circuit elements are available to switch between the twelve modes. Depending on the selected mode, the number and routing of active bucket-brigade delay lines, the low-pass filter settings and the clock rates are adjusted. The Variation knob controls multiple parameters at once—customized for each mode. You can also drive the delays into self-oscillation and saturation at any time using the Intensity knob.

Stereo Delays with True Analog Warmth
Thanks to the DM-101's processor control, sophisticated stereo sounds are possible that other analog bucket-brigade delays cannot achieve. For example, the Pan mode routes each delay line and its feedback loop to shifting positions in the stereo field, while in Dual mode the modulation phase for each output is offset to create a large, spatial delay effect. Six of the twelve modes support stereo operation and cover the full range from short, reverb-like sounds to expansive, modulated delays and pattern delays for pronounced rhythmic effects.
Complete Creative Control
The DM-101 delivers all the creative advantages of a modern delay pedal. Most modes provide Tap Tempo and note subdivisions. The Carryover function ensures cleanly decaying repeats when the effect is switched to bypass. You can store your favorite setups on the four built-in memory slots and recall them quickly when needed. For extended real-time control, up to two footswitches or an expression pedal can be connected. Via the MIDI I/O, the DM-101 provides access to 127 user memory slots, MIDI sync and more. The audio outputs are configured for mix mode by default but can be quickly and easily adapted for use in wet/dry rigs and parallel wet-only setups.

DM-101 Delay Modes
- Classic: Traditional, warm analog delay sound with up to 1200 ms delay time. The Variation knob lets you switch between triangle, sine and more complex waveforms to shape the modulation behavior.
- Vintage: Analog retro delay sound, inspired by the legendary BOSS DM-2 Delay pedal from 1981. The Variation knob lets you switch between triangle, sine and more complex waveforms to shape the modulation behavior.
- Modern: Uniquely transparent analog delay tone with a bright character and up to 840 ms delay time. The Variation knob lets you switch between triangle, sine and more complex waveforms to shape the modulation behavior.
- Multi-Head: An emulation of a tape delay with multiple heads and a unique analog bucket-brigade character. The Variation knob lets you choose between ten different head combinations.
- Non-Linear: A distinctive effect that produces short consecutive delays (35–190 ms) that progressively get louder. The Variation knob controls the delay times following the original delay.
- Ambience: Simulates a small room. The Variation knob controls room size and early reflections.
- Reflect: A stereo delay sound that creates a reverb-like effect. The Variation knob controls the pre-delay.
- Doubling+Delay: A stereo effect that combines a doubled sound with a longer delay. The Variation knob adjusts the balance between the two sounds at the stereo output.
- Wide: A stereo delay with offset delay settings left/right for a wide sound. The Variation knob sets the offset delay value.
- Dual Mod: A stereo delay with different modulation phase settings for the left and right outputs. The Variation knob controls the phase amount (at maximum setting the phase is fully inverted).
- Pan: A stereo tap delay with different delay times for distribution across the stereo field. The Variation knob lets you balance the contributions of the individual delays.
- Pattern: Stereo delay with various rhythmic patterns. The Variation knob lets you choose from ten available pattern types.
