Boss OC-5 Octave - The New Standard for Octave Pedals!

The BOSS OC-5 combines classic BOSS octave sounds with the latest tracking technology, setting a new benchmark among octave pedals. The vintage mode is an accurate reproduction of the legendary OC-2 mono pedal from 1982. In polyphonic mode, the OC-5 shines with numerous improvements and an extended tonal range.

Additionally, you can use the octave-up function to access up to three octaves, opening new creative possibilities. From fat, deep mono sounds to octave chords and more – the OC-5 offers the widest tonal range, highest sound quality, and best playability of any octave pedal on the market.

Powerful Octave Effects

The OC-5 is based on the latest BOSS real-time processing technology, delivering outstanding sound and exceptional playability for unmatched expressive options. Key features include the newly developed tracking engine for clean, precise effect response without latency. Furthermore, the OC-5 offers an even wider tonal range and improved polyphony options to meet all octave effect demands in one powerful pedal.

Classic Sounds with Vintage Mode

The OC-2 was introduced in 1982 and is considered the world’s first modern octave pedal for guitar and bass. Musicians still love the pedal’s equally warm and present sound, which sits perfectly in the mix and is recognizable on countless hits.

With the vintage mode, the legendary mono sound is also available on the OC-5 – thanks to the new tracking engine with even better response. The dedicated level controls for -1 and -2 octave effects and the direct sound give you full control over a vast palette of sub-octave tones at all times.

Expanded Polyphonic Mode

The OC-5 features an enhanced polyphonic mode. First introduced with the OC-3 Super Octave, it lets you play chords with octave effects. The versatile range control limits the effect to the lower notes of your instrument – perfect for octave bass lines combined with classic chord and melody playing in the higher registers. You can also restrict the octave effect to only the lowest note of a chord by setting the range control to "Lowest."

Extended Tonal Range with "Octave Up"

The octave-up effect is one of the most exciting new features of the OC-5 and is available in both vintage and polyphonic modes. Simply turn the +1 OCT knob to set the desired effect level. Use octave-up as a standalone effect for artificial 12-string guitar sounds and unique solos, or blend it with octave-down effects for rich chord voicings and especially thick lead tones.

Guitar/Bass Switch and Direct Out

The dedicated switch on the pedal’s underside lets you optimize the OC-5’s tracking engine performance for guitar or bass. The direct out output also allows you to send the dry and effect signals to separate destinations, such as two stage amps or two separate channels on a mixing console or audio interface.
