Boss EQ-200 - Simply Elegant!
With the 200 series, BOSS introduces a new, compact pedal generation that delivers premium sound, extraordinary versatility and a minimal footprint on your pedalboard. Thanks to intuitive knobs and multifunction switches, operation is simple and straightforward.
Internal memory slots give you extra convenience, letting you recall your own setups instantly when needed. The high audio quality of the 200-series pedals is based on 32-bit AD/DA conversion, 32-bit internal signal processing and a 96 kHz sampling rate. You can also control the pedals externally via switchers, an expression pedal or MIDI.
The EQ-200 is the most flexible compact equalizer ever developed for guitarists and bassists. It features two comprehensive 10-band EQ channels and an integrated graphic display that shows the currently selected EQ curve. The two channels can be configured for parallel, series or stereo operation.
You can also connect external pedals to process signals before or after the internal EQ (Pre/Post). In addition, you can switch the center frequencies of the ten EQ bands between three different types to tailor the EQ-200 to different instruments.
Two 10-Band EQs With Selectable Bandwidth
With its revised design, 32-bit/96-kHz processing unit and extremely low self-noise, the EQ-200 enables precise sound shaping based on top signal quality.
Each frequency band can be cut or boosted by 15 dB. Each channel also has a level control that lets you match the processed signal to the bypass signal or add an extra level boost.
The center frequencies of the bands can be switched among three types. This lets you tailor the EQ-200's tone shaping to a variety of instruments — from electric and acoustic guitars to basses, keyboards and more.
Flexible Signal Flow With Pre-/Post Switching of External Effects
Thanks to its variable signal-flow architecture, tone shaping with the EQ-200 is exceptionally versatile. Channels A and B can be processed independently or linked. You can also connect an external pedal (or multiple pedals in series) via the insert jack and choose to place it before or after the EQ processing (Pre/Post) in the EQ-200's signal flow.
Used with overdrive and distortion pedals, this gives you countless ways to shape your rhythm or lead sound. In series mode, the signal runs through the two EQs sequentially. That way you can craft your core tone with the first EQ while the second handles the solo sound or additional fine tuning.
Simple Interface and Visual EQ Display
Operating the EQ-200 is fast, intuitive and straightforward. The sliders provide direct access to the ten EQ bands and the master level of each channel. At the same time, the integrated screen shows your current EQ curve at a glance. The channels are switched via a dedicated button.
You can also access deeper EQ parameters quickly and efficiently. The panel-lock function is particularly handy — it lets you disable the front-panel knobs and switches to prevent accidental changes while you focus on the other pedals on your board.
Save and Recall Setup Favorites
The EQ-200 has four internal memory slots that let you recall your setups instantly when needed. In Manual setting you also have a fifth setup that reflects the current front-panel settings. You can page through stored setups using an EQ-200 footswitch. For faster access you can limit the selection to specific memory slots or assign a single setup for direct recall.
Deep Real-Time Control
In the default setting, the EQ-200 footswitches give you access to bypass switching and memory selection. If needed, you can assign them to other functions, including channel on/off, access to specific memory slots and more.
The EQ-200 can also be controlled via external footswitches, whose functions are freely assignable. Alternatively, you can connect an expression pedal to control the levels of channels A and B, or the overall output level (a handy substitute for a volume pedal).
Mini-jack connectors also provide MIDI In and Out. This lets you control numerous functions from an external MIDI controller and chain multiple 200-series pedals so you can change memory slots simultaneously across all pedals.
New Boss 200 Serie V1.1 Update - Expansion of User Memory Slots
The free Version 1.1 software update makes the BOSS 200 series even more flexible and greatly expands the internal capacity for storing and recalling sounds. The number of user memory slots has been increased to 128 (including Manual Mode). In addition, memory slots can be recalled directly via external MIDI program-change commands. Super I find that you can save different settings and recall at the touch of a button. To let my Fender Tomemaster with the Paula sound really good I have to take out the mids. But the mids have to be boosted significantly via the XLR out so that it sounds good over the PA.
And that genaht now by click with the foot. ????????????
The EQ doesn't noise, so that makes it even better than before with the GE7.
What's also cool is the EQ200 has two outputs, so even out of the EQ 200 you can play clean once into one amp and out of the other output via pedals into the other amp. (Yes Yes ..., I'm just a game child ????)
Conclusion: For me perfect, therefore 5 stars from conviction
