The CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, introduced in 1976, was not only the world's first chorus effect pedal but also the beginning of the remarkable BOSS pedal story. Three years after its debut, its sound was integrated into the blue CE-2 chorus pedal. Since then, chorus pedals have been a smash hit. Four decades later, BOSS looks back to the origin of an effect that musicians still adore. In 2016 BOSS celebrates 40 years of innovation — and the original chorus sound, of course, had to be included: it's now available again with the Waza Craft CE-2W!

The CE-2W's Standard mode produces the authentic CE-2 chorus sound while expanding it with a stereo output the original didn't offer. The CE-1 mode, on the other hand, recreates the CE-1's stereo chorus and vibrato sound, with the intensity adjustable to taste for the first time. To honor the anniversary, the CE-2W, like the earliest BOSS effect pedals including the CE-1 and CE-2, is built entirely in Japan.
