Boss presents the ME-90B, an intuitive ME effect processor with professional performance tools for bassists. Expand your creative possibilities with 61 effects specially designed for bass use. With the combination of an intuitive interface, expression pedal, and footswitches, you can instantly realize every idea without slowing down your creativity.

Intuitive Creative Control

The ME-90B offers everything live bassists need, packed in the classic Boss ME floor pedal design for quick and straightforward operation. Each effect category has its own dedicated knobs and parameters, allowing you to adjust your sounds immediately. While effect categories can be activated/deactivated separately via footswitches in manual mode, up to 36 individual multi-effect setups can be recalled in memory mode. For easier overview, each footswitch has a different LED color. It is also possible to have all LEDs glow in a fixed color depending on the selected mode.

High-Quality Boss Effects

The ME-90B offers numerous high-quality bass effects from the Boss effect library, divided into six areas that can be used simultaneously. Basic sound shapers like compressors, pitch effects, and filters are available. Drive and synth effects provide more aggressive textures, while modulation, delays, and reverbs make and expand your sound bigger. You’ll also find a variety of specific effects for the integrated expression pedal. The blend control lets you mix in a portion of the bass direct sound for more clarity. Additionally, a send/return loop is available to integrate your favorite stompbox effects.

A strong fundamental tone is the basis of every good bass rig. The preamp/EQ section of the ME-90B offers ten inspiring preamp types based on AIRD technology, including gain and EQ controls for quick sound adjustments. Find your own sound with Boss originals like Natural and Drive Bass. Or use authentic models of classic bass amplifiers—from vintage to modern. There’s also an acoustic type for electro-acoustic basses and double basses, plus an EQ-only option for clean DI sounds.

Playing, Practicing, Recording

With its wide range of connections and compact battery-powered housing, the ME-90B suits every application scenario. The 6.3 mm jack outputs can be used mono or stereo and switched via a rear switch for use with stage amps or line-level equipment. There’s also an XLR output with ground lift to send a balanced DI signal to a PA system. The ME-90B’s preamps and effects deliver studio-quality sound for direct recording via USB into music production software. You can also use the headphone output to jam silently to backing tracks from a computer without disturbing others.

Edit, Customize, Expand

Boss Tone Studio for Windows and macOS expands your creative space and lets you edit sounds as well as swap preamp and effect types. Manage memory slots for different gigs and add up to three of your own speaker impulse responses to the built-in ones. Additionally, with the optional Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter, you can stream music from a mobile device and edit sounds wirelessly via the BTS Editor app (iOS/Android).
