About the Author

Michael Christoph

Michael Christoph (born April 2, 1964, in Munich as Michael Schwager) is a drummer, singer, guitarist, songwriter, and author as well as a passionate music teacher.

At his first attempts on a toy piano at age six, he already showed great musical talent by initially playing all the children's songs he knew. He got his first guitar at ten, his first drum set at 15. Full of enthusiasm for bands like AC/DC, the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, he taught himself to play drums autodidactically with their songs. Half a year later, Michael Christoph founded his first band with school friends.

In 1994, he began his professional drummer training at "Drummer's Focus." He completed his teacher training after just two years. From 1998, he was part of the renowned Drummer's Focus teaching team in Munich for 15 years. This was followed by various artist collaborations and gigs as a cover musician with tours that took Michael Christoph to England, the USA, Mexico, Japan, and various European countries.

In 1992, Michael Christoph founded his own music school "Die Blechtrommel" in Eurasburg, where about 100 students have been able to learn their favorite instrument with him and his colleagues continuously year after year. The multi-instrumentalist works alongside his activities as a composer, live and studio musician also as a private music teacher in Wolfratshausen, Eurasburg, Erding, and Munich and is the author of several instructional books for drums, piano, guitar, electric guitar, etc.
